The location of all our meetings is at the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange,
150 S. Ashland, LaGrange in the basement Fellowship Hall, unless otherwise noted.
Please enter directly from the parking lot entrance into the basement area.

Our Hospitality & Social Hour begins at 12:15 pm with coffee, appetizers & sweet treats.
Our Business Meeting begins at 1:00 pm, followed by a special program & speaker.
                                                                          ***
We would love to have guests join us to see if they might be interested in membership.
Our members have a lot to offer and share in responsibilities to make us a success!

September 8 - Community Service Project 
Members will make Sports Ball centerpieces for Aging Care Connections fundraiser. 
Aging Care provices social services to senior citizens.

All direction and materials will be provided by the club.

Sept. 22 - Member Outdoor Workshop:  Claire, one of our members, will teach us how to make Mercury Glass vases.

Friday, October 14 - 10 AM - Member Workshop at Lizzie's Garden shop, Naperville  Making a tile-decorated pot with Lizzie.  Optional lunch at Biaggi's.

Civic Development:  We will perform a Fall cleanup of the LaGrange post office garden. Date to be determined.

Demonstration on how to make wire-framed, moss covered topiaries using live plants. Frames will be for sale.

LGGC CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON - Prior signup required with our Social/Hospitality Chairperson, Claire to be able to attend.   Members may bring a guest, but they must signup and pay by the November deadline.
Location:  Chuck's Southern Comfort Food banquet hall, Darien 
               
Program:  "Decorating ideas with fresh greens & flowers for your holiday home"   
Karla Monti, LaGrange Garden Club member and retired florist, will share her ideas in a floral demonstration.  All arrangements will be raffled off free, compliments of the Garden Club.
Maybe you'll be lucky enough to win and take one home! 
 Note:  As part of our Community Service, members and guests are asked to bring
children's unwrapped, new toys and books for Community Nurse and Health Association's
"Secret Santa" program. Financial Donations for Community Nurse are also welcome.

We will be touring the design warehouse of Phillip's Florists and doing a workshop making a small floral arrangement.

Ways & Means - CLUB FUNDRAISER
 
Members & Friends Annual PLANT CATALOG orders nd payments are due at this meeting.
All Members are expected to participate and help on our fundraiser by ordering plants themselves and asking friends & family.  (sorry, no internet orders)
 
Members that are physically able are also asked to help unload the plant trucks and help sort orders in May when the plants are delivered.
 
April 3
Program: Don White "Anything Orchids"
Don is the shop owner and will educate us in how to raise and care for orchids.  He will discuss different kinds of orchids and bring some to show and tell!  Don will also bring some orchids to sell.
 
 CIVIC DEVELOPMENT:  Members volunteer to clean up the Post Office flower beds.  Date to be determined.

CELEBRATING ARBOR DAY:  Our Club donates a tree to a local community organization to celebrate Arbor Day.  In April, 2016 we donated a tree to St. Francis School.  The Village Forester and Club members participated in a tree planting ceremony with students.We will determine a location for a 2017 tree.

Program: Nina Koziol "Design Trends in the Midwest Garden"                                                                                                      Nina is a long-time garden writer for the Tribune, Chicagoland Gardening magazine, and several other publications.                                         Nina also teaches design and horticulture classes.

CATALOG ANNUALS DELIVERED!!
May  18  - Nursery suppliers deliver plant orders.
Members & friends are asked to pick up any plants they ordered at times and locations specified.
Club Members are asked to volunteer to help unload the truck & sort plant orders.
We enjoy an outdoor picnic lunch as a group. Questions can be directed to our club president, Jan.
 
 
May 24 and 25 - MEMBERS, ALONG WITH HELP FROM THE LAGRANGE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, 
 PLANT THE LAGRANGE BUSINESS DISTRICT'S SUMMER PLANT CONTAINERS
DURING THE WEEK BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY.  ONE OF OUR CLUB MEMBER DEVELOPS THE PLAN.
WORKING WITH THE VILLAGE TO HELPING TO BEAUTIFY OUR COMMUNITY IS WHAT WE'RE ABOUT!

MEMBERS ALSO USE THIS AS A WAY TO KEEP IN TOUCH DURING 
THE SUMMER AND DISCUSS THEIR GARDENS!
